Quiz Questions

What is the Quiz?  Where do I go to take the Quiz?
There are two Quizzes – one for parents (Responsible Sport Parenting Quiz) and one for coaches (Responsible Coaching Quiz).

The Quiz says I should read the Guide.  What is the Guide?  Where can I find it?
There are two Guides – one for parents (Responsible Sport Parenting Guide) and one for coaches (Responsible Coaching Guide). Both Guides provide information and resources on how to help your children / athletes set goals for the season, how to foster a Mastery Approach, how to fill Emotional Tanks and how to teach your children / athletes to Honor The Game and represent the best of sportsmanship.

What if I get the Quiz wrong?
No worries! Our quiz gives you a chance to correct your answer as you go.  Or you can always go back and reread the Guide..

I go onto the Quiz page but I don’t see the Quiz – it’s blank!  What’s wrong?
In the rare instance that this might occur, it is likely due to a display error on your computer. You may have pop-up blockers in place that is preventing our Video module from displaying.  Or you might not have java enabled on your machine.  To fix your screen, start with the error status bar that appears just below the address bar and follow the instructions from your web browser.  If you are still having problems, contact us via our form and tell us the full details of your computer and we’ll try to assist in troubleshooting.

    I'm a student athlete.  Can I take a Quiz?
Sorry.  Students can not take a quiz.  Our Quizzes are for Parents and Coaches of youth athletes.  We require that everyone be over the age of 18 to take the Quiz.

    I'm not a parent of an athlete -- I'm a grandparent / family friend/ supporter of a team.  Can I take a Quiz?
Yes, as long as you are over the age of 18, feel free to review the Guide that most interests you and take the Quiz.

What if I don't want to watch the video or read a Guide?  Can I still take the Quiz?
You are not required to read the Guide before taking the Quiz, however you do have to watch one of the videos before taking the Quiz.

Can I take the Quiz multiple times?
You can take the Quiz as many times as you like, however during Grant periods you are only allowed to give a single quiz competitions point to one organization.  So unfortunately you can’t earn more points for your organization with more quizzes.  It’s one quiz, one point, one organization.

Can I take both the Sport Parenting and Coaching Quiz?  Will they both count for the Community Grant?
You can take both Quizzes, however during Grant periods only one Quiz will count as a point for your organization of choice.

Can I read the Guide and take the Quiz even when the Community Grant is closed?
Yes, we encourage you to share this content with your friends and family and encourage them to join Responsible Sports movement! During our closed Grant periods you will not be able to credit your point – but you can always log back in during Grant periods to credit it then.

Where do I go to download my Completion Certification?

Points Questions

What is a 'point'? How do you earn a point?
A point is earned when you complete Quiz after reading the Responsible Sport Parenting or Responsible Coaching guide.  You can then assign or ‘credit’ your point to a participating youth sports organization as part of our Community Grant program.  Points don’t count towards the Community Grant program until you verify your email address, so please remember to do so!

Why are points subject to verification?
We verify all points to make sure they are earned according to the Official Rules.  We take Gaming seriously and, as you’ll see in our Official Rules, we audit all points to make sure that winning organizations have done so fairly.

I just took the Quiz and my point was not added to the Leaderboard - what happened?
Your point does not count towards the Leaderboard until you verify your email address.

Winners Questions

What do the winners get? What is the prize for winning?
The winning youth sports organizations each receive a $2,500 grant from Liberty Mutual Insurance.  The Grant monies are sent to the organization itself and for use only for organization expenses.  The Grant prize is not eligible for individuals.

    How do you determine winners?
The winners are the top five (5) organizations in each division (for a total of 15 winners) that earned the most points at the end of each grant period.

If our organization is on the top of the Leaderboard at the end of the Grant, does that mean we won?
No!  The leaderboard is unofficial results.  At the end of the Grant period, we go through an extensive audit process to determine that all points are valid and meet the criteria of our Official Rules.  Organizations can sometimes fall out of the leaderboard if they have non-valid credits. We’ll make an official announcement of the winners.

My team wasn't in the top 5 of the Leaderboard at the end of the Grant, does that mean we lost?
Don’t give up hope!  All points are subject to audit to ensure that they meet our Official Rules and sometimes organizations at the top of the leaderboard fall off the leaderboard and organizations who finished just below the Top 5 are in fact our winners.  We’ll have an official announcement of the winners – until then, stay patient and keep your hopes up!

When do you announce the winners?
The Community Grant winners first have to go through an audit process. After all fifteen (15) organizations have gone through the audit process; the winners will be announced. Typically, the winners are announced 2-3 weeks after the close of the Community Grant period.

Where can I go to see the Winner Announcement?
The winners will be released first on the Responsible Sports Facebook Page. To get an exclusive first look at our winners, make sure to 'Like' us on Facebook. After the initial announcement on Facebook, the winners will be available on ResponsibleSports.com shortly afterwards.

Where can I go to see Past Winners?
You can visit our Past Winners gallery to see all of our Community Grant winners since we got started back in the Fall of 2007.

If my organization won in the past, can we win again?
No, unfortunately you can not win again.  Our Official Rules state that past winning organizations and schools are no longer eligible to win again.  Please see our Official Rules for more detail.

If a team in my school won in the past, can a different team from the school now compete to win?
No, unfortunately if your school has won in the past, regardless of which team participated, the entire school is now no longer eligible to win again.  Please see our Official Rules for more detail.

If a team from my club won in the past, can a different team from my club now compete to win?
No, unfortunately if your club has won in the past, regardless of which team participated, the entire school is now no longer eligible to win again.  Please see our Official Rules for more detail.

We didn't win the Grant last period.  Can we compete again this period?  Do our old points count?
Yes, you can complete in as many Grant periods as you like if you have not won.  Please note that previously earned points do not transfer from one Grant period to the next. But the good news?  You don’t need to register again.  Your organization is already in our system and so you are ready to go the next time a Grant period opens.
