Community Grant Overview

Liberty Mutual Insurance created the Responsible Sports Community Grant program in the Fall of 2007 as a way to reward youth sports teams, clubs, associations and schools who demonstrate their commitment to a Responsible Sports environment.  We award $2,500 Grants to these organizations and to date we’ve given away more than half a million dollars! The Community Grant is a free, competition-based fundraising program for youth sports organizations.  Teams, clubs and schools from around the country register to participate.  Once approved to compete, organizations rally their adult supporters to take a Responsible Sport Parenting or Responsible Coaching quiz and credit the point to the organization.  At the end of the three month Grant period, the organizations with the most points earn the $2,500 Grants.

Organizations compete in three divisions: Small (less than 100 athletes in the organization), Large (more than 100 athletes in the organization) and Schools.  Each division has five (5) winners for a total of fifteen (15) winners each Grant period.

The Community Grant program is open twice a year: Spring (March 1st to May 31st) and Fall (September 1st to November 30th).  The Grant officially opens at 12:01am Eastern time and officially closes at 11:59pm Eastern time.
Registration for the Community Grant is open during our Grant periods.  Once registered, you remain in our database – no need to register each Grant period.  Registration is completed by a team or club administrator, coach or sanctioned Team Parent.
