- Nominator: The individual who is nominating a coach for the Responsible Coaching Award.
- Nominee: A coach who has been nominated for the Responsible Coaching Award.
- Finalist: A coach that has made it into the final two coaches to be selected from their state.
- Responsible Coach: One who exhibits a high level of coaching competence, achieves and maintains excellence on the field, demonstrates an ongoing commitment to the well-being and development of youth athletes off the field, and honors and respects the game. Learn more »

Nominator Questions
When does the current Responsible Coaching Awards nomination period close?
We are currently in our winter nomination period, which closes on February 28, 2009.
How long does an Responsible Coaching Award nomination period last?
The nomination periods typically last for three months and happen twice a year – during the summer and winter seasons. The current nomination period closes on February 28, 2009.

My coach coaches multiple teams, can I nominate him or her for all teams?
No, a nominator can only nominate a coach once and only for the sport or team applicable to which the Responsible Coaching behavior was observed.
How will I know if the coach I nominated is a finalist?
You should receive an email notification from the Responsible Sports Team alerting you to your coach's status as a finalist.
How long does the Responsible Coaching Awards winner-selection process take?
The length of the selection process can vary but it will generally take around 6-8 weeks.
When will winners be announced?
The summer Responsible Coaching Award winners will be announced in April 2009.
I am receiving an error page when submitting information, what's causing this?
There could be a number of reasons a user is receiving an error message. Below are a few things that may be interfering with your ability to submit information:

The coach that I would like to nominate was a previous winner, can a coach win a Responsible Coaching Award twice?
No, although we believe that the coach you would like to nominate for the current Responsible Coaching Awards is a great coach, the award can only be won once.
Nominee Questions
I have been nominated for an Responsible Coaching Award for one sport but I coach multiple sports, can I include the other sports in my coach resume?
Yes, you may include information on other sports that you coach; however, the additional information will not be weighed heavily in the selection process. The judging panel will be judging your resume based mainly on the sport you were nominated for, so we strongly recommend that 99% of your coaching resume contain information and stories that relate to the sport for which you were nominated.
How will I know if I'm a finalist?

Yes, you will need to accept your nomination and complete the new resume to be a valid candidate for the current Coaching Award period.
